Lake Forrester, a private camping facility for youth groups (Scouts both boys and girls).
Activities such as campfires, swimming, canoeing, paddle boating, nature study, fishing, and hiking are available depending on the weather and seasons.
The 2.5 acre lake is stocked with largemouth bass, bluegill, catfish, perch, and striped bass. There is also a 20 Ft tall waterslide inspired by the one formerly featured at BSA Camp Miakonda in Sylvania, Ohio. The pond is aerated by windmill. There is a well with a hand pump that provides great tasting water.
About 600 fruit trees planted to hopefully provide income in the future for sustaining the facility. You will find apple trees, both regular and dwarf varieties planted in 2007. Varieties of pear and peach and nectarine trees were planted in 2008.
The twenty acres of woods are loaded with shagbark hickory, oaks, maples, and cottonwood. Habitat finds raccoon, squirrel, rabbits, frogs, muskrats, coyote, fox, and deer.
Lake Forrester has hosted Boy Scout Camporees, troop campouts, Cub Scout family outings, fishing derbies, wedding receptions and family reunions.
